Rosarito Beach, located in Baja Norte on the Pacific Ocean, is a tourist hot spot for many. Because of the drinking age of 18, Rosarito Beach attracts a lot of party goers, especially college students, but you can find more residential areas for living. English is widely spoken here, and that is a major consideration if you do not speak Spanish. Rosarito Beach has some of the best shopping in Mexico. Because it is a tourist hot-spot, there are many beautiful resorts, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and, best of all, great weather. Rosarito Beach is a short 20 minute drive from the Tijuana International Airport or just 30 to 45 minute drive from San Diego depending on the traffic at the border.

Rosarito Beach attracts military families due to the close proximity of the VA hospital in San Diego. If you’re not a veteran, you can get excellent health care in Rosarito Beach for much less than you would pay in the U.S., and certainly more conveniently than in Canada. Overall, the location, weather, communication infrastructure, cultural and other activities are top ranked. Housing is much more affordable than neighboring California and all major shopping is readily available.

  • One of Rosarito’s annual events is the Rosarito- Ensenado 50 mile Fun Bicycle Ride. At the completion of the ride in Ensenada, there is a big fiesta and all riders are given the luxury of a bus ride home at the end of the fiesta. Sounds like a plan!
  • Taking a little drive on the coastal road heading south will bring you to the little fishing village of Puerto Nuevo, called Newport by Americans. This town is famous for its lobster. There are streams of restaurants that specialize only in lobster and offer ocean views, great margaritas and the music of mariachi bands. Enjoy!
