Healthy Eating in Mexico

Healthy eating in Mexico is easy!

Fortunately, Mexico offers an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables for healthy eating in Mexico at a fraction of the cost of the same foods that sell in major super markets throughout North America.

Healthy eating in Mexico is part of the daily lifestyle.  You will find an abundance of locally grown fruits and vegetables, most visually familiar and some will be new and exciting foods to enjoy.  While settling into your retirement in Mexico, healthy eating is a must for a happy, healthy retirement in Mexico.

Is healthy eating in Mexico possible when eating out?

Mexico offers lots of local street food vendors with very tempting offers and flavors for extremely affordable food.  However, for healthy eating in Mexico, avoid any food that is being sold from carts where there is no water facility for rinsing hands and fruits or vegetables.

If you are dining out in Mexico, you should know that you can eat food “your way”.  Do you suffer from any food allergies or other food limitations?  Don’t worry because you can always instruct your waiter on how your food must be prepared and what should be eliminated from the recipe.  Larger restaurants offer menus in English.  Ask for “menu en Ingles”. Knowing the do’s and don’ts  will assure your healthy eating in Mexico.

Most restaurants will serve traditional Mexican food that has been prepared in clean kitchens.  For healthy eating in Mexico, stick with restaurants that are generally busy, indicating a fresh turnover of food and little history, if any, of food related illness.
